Lean Six Sigma is a management methodology that aims to increase quality, performance and customer satisfaction with lower costs. Its two main focusses are the systematic elimination of waste from every process in the company and only keeping activities that are of value to the customer. Although Lean Six Sigma was created in Toyota, Motorola and GE, its methodology is commonly used in the service sector as well. Throughout our practical courses, you will understand what a Lean way of working looks like and what Lean thinking is all about; you will look for innovative solutions for your real business case study, and you will get a set of PwC project templates used by PwC consultants when they are working on innovation projects.
If you want to start the digital transformation in your company, you need to first map and optimise the processes. And that is exactly where Lean Six Sigma can help you.
Find smart solutions that make things easier, faster, cheaper and of higher value. Learn to lead innovative projects.
Understand customer needs and tailor the processes to bring them real value.

Black Belts are typically programme managers, innovation leads, trainers, coaches, some top managers and project managers of more demanding projects.
Green Belts are typically project managers, workstream leaders and team members of more challenging projects. Typically 5–10% of the employees.
Yellow Belts are project teams members and company general population. Typically 20% or more of the employees.
We offer open courses or as tailor-made Lean Six Sigma trainings.
What is the difference between them?
Yellow-Belt courses will introduce you to the Lean way of thinking and to the basic methods of Lean Six Sigma. They are designed specifically for team members working on innovative projects.
Green-Belt courses are designed for future project managers of innovative projects. You will learn to deliver an innovative project from A to Z – from searching for opportunities, setting KPIs, collecting and evaluating data, implementing improvements up to team management and change management within the company and evaluating the benefits of the project. You will also get an overview of digital transformation methods and tools.
Black-Belt courses are designed for project managers who are responsible for larger projects or for the digital transformation in a company, for managers at all levels and for all those who devote themselves to process innovation on a full-time basis. The course focusses mainly on managerial skills related to process innovation, deeper understanding of data, management of larger implementations and an evaluation of financial and non-financial benefits for the company.
Yellow-Belt courses are attended by employees from across the company. Green-Belt courses are usually attended by managers at all levels, project managers, future project managers, as well as junior employees who plan to get involved in innovation projects. Also, people who already have experience with innovative projects and want to deepen their knowledge, apply to attend the Black-Belt courses.
Our participants come from both large international companies and small and medium-sized enterprises. Most participants come from non-production areas. The courses are also often attended by start-up and freelance consultants and project managers.
Yes. If you sign up for both levels at the same time, you will get a better price and you will save your time because in this case the Yellow Belt is shortened to one day. But don't worry, you will not lose any knowledge (even though the course is shorter).
You have to attend at least 80% of all sessions to complete the course. For Green-Belt certification, it is necessary to pass a test and to present a project from your company. For Black Belt, in addition to the attendance (80%) and the final test, you need to prove that you have at least one year of experience in managing innovation projects. In addition to that, you have to demonstrate that you have led a project that has resulted in a quantified financial benefit for the company. You have one year after the end of the course to deliver the documentation that proves that these criteria have been met.
No. The price of all courses includes passing the exam directly at PwC and issuing an internationally recognised certificate.
No. Lean Six Sigma certificates from PwC are lifelong and do not have to be renewed.
You can resit the exam twice. In very exceptional cases, when the participants fail even after the second attempt, it is possible to purchase additional attempts.
You do not have to deliver a project for the Yellow-Belt course. During the Green-Belt course, you work on a project in your company and our consultants help you with it. At the end of the course, you present your project, and it is not necessary to implement and evaluate all the proposed changes from the project before you finish the course.
In case of the Black-Belt course, you work on your project during the course and use the help of our consultants. To obtain certification, the project needs to be implemented and its results quantified and quantified. You have one year after the end of the course to implement and evaluate the project.
There is a maximum 15 participants. The usual size of the group is 10-12 participants.
Yes. You can sign up for open courses where you will cooperate with participants from other companies, and you will have the opportunity to expand your professional contacts and exchange know-how with professionals from various business fields.
Yes. We often run tailor-made courses for individual companies. We can conduct the course on the premises of PwC or on the premises of your company. In case you want to involve colleagues from other countries and limit traveling abroad, we can also organise an online course for you.
All courses are available in either an online or face-to-face format, both in Czech and English. Black-Belt courses are held only in English; however, in case of tailor-made courses, it is possible to organise them in Czech as well.
The main advantage of the online course is that you can participate in this course from anywhere, and you can even invite your colleagues from other countries to join the course without the need to travel. It's not only a lecture session; even in an online course, you cooperate most of the time in a team, you try out different methods and work on case studies or work directly on a project under the guidance of a lecturer.
If you prefer a face-to-face course (instead of an online course), this option is definitely also available.
The Yellow-Belt course contains two training days, the Green Belt six days and the Black belt 10 days. For open courses, the days are always in two-day blocks (Thursday-Friday) with an interval of 2-3 weeks. With the online course, the course always takes place one day a week, for example, Green Belt takes place every Wednesday for six weeks. In the case of private courses at your company, we will completely adapt to your time schedule.
They are not. Although we mention some production principles, 95% of course participants come from non-production areas - shared services, finance, IT, telecommunications, etc.
No. Our Lean Six Sigma courses are highly practical. We pass the skills and methods on to you that we teach our consultants and that we actually use on our clients' projects. During a Green-Belt course, our goal is to teach you how to understand data and perform basic analysis in Excel so that you can make decisions based on data.
We use the tools available to participants; there is no need to purchase additional software licenses. To map the process, participants can use, for example, Visio, Lucidchart, Diagrams.net or Excel or Powerpoint (Excel for data analysis). It is possible to try basic versions of other tools, such as Celonis for process mining, or PowerAutomate, UIPath community edition and others.
We do not work with Minitab in our courses. Minitab is specialised software used mainly in the area of production quality. A single-user license costs thousands of euros and its use in the non-production area is very limited. We will teach you how to perform all the necessary data analyses in Excel. During a Black-Belt course, those interested can try data analysis in Python.
