The purpose of the initiative
The purpose of this initiative is to give an award to a company leading in openness of communication with its stakeholders. The initiative is based on a similar concept that has existed at the London Stock Exchange for years.
Members of the evaluation committee
- Ivana Gazic, President of the Management Board, Zagreb Stock Exchange
- Andreja Hascek, head of the Directorate for Supervision of Publishers of HANFA
- Dijana Bojceta Markoja, director, Association of Pension Fund Management Companies and Pension Insurance Companies
- Mislav Ante Omazic, Professor at Economic Faculty, University of Zagreb
- Slaven Kartelo, Member of the Management board and respresentative of PwC Croatia
Goal of the award
The goal of the award is to identify and reward listed companies that excel in clarity and transparency of reporting to their stakeholders (shareholders, investors, banks, regulators, etc.).
Evaluation methodology
The review took into consideration the companies which are part of CROBEX.
The sources of information were all publicly available sources in the current year.:
- Annual Report (without financial statements)
- Sustainability report
- Corporate website
The categories according to which the companies were evaluated were chosen based on their importance and relevance for all stakeholders of the Zagreb Stock Exchange:
- Business Sustainability (ESG)
- Code of Corporate Governance
- Transparency on business and financial characteristics
Several aspects are evaluated within each category depending on whether the required information has been published, and whether the information is transparently disclosed or only basic information is published.
The evaluation categories are chosen based on importance and relevance for all interested parties, which is why special emphasis is placed on reporting on business sustainability.
About rewards for building public trust
PwC Croatia, together with the representatives of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE), launched this initiative in 2018 to award the leading company for openness in communication with its stakeholders: the PwC's Building Public Trust Award (BPTA).
The goal of the award is to recognize and reward companies diversified through clarity and transparency of reporting.
